Prague!

I had the best weekend in Prague! It is a beautiful city with so much history. We arrived on Friday night after a four hour bus ride. I borrowed my friend's huge backpack...do you like the body straps? haha
This was our first view of Old Town Square. Our hotel was only two blocks away!
The next morning we woke up early for a free walking tour of the city.

This is Old Town Square during the day. There was an old-fashioned fair in the middle that sold Czech food and hand made crafts, just like back in the day.
This is in New Town Square, where all the shops are.
The building on the left is the oldest Synagogue in Europe. It was spared by Hitler during the Nazi era for the twisted purpose of becoming a museum after all the Jews were exterminated.
Here we are at the end of our tour with the Praha Castle in the background.
The view from the bridge was amazing!
This was our hilarious Scottish tour guide. Since the free tour tour-guides work off of tips, they tend to be a lot more fun and interesting than those that cost money.
Here we are at a different angle with the bridge and castle behind us. We made the boys take sooo many pictures of us!
There were a billion puppet stores with puppets almost as creepy as yours, mom!
We ate the sausages at the Old Town Square fair three times that weekend! They were really cheap and extremely delicious haha
These traditional pastries were cooked around a hot poker.

I didn't buy these pants, but we had fun shopping.
The last morning we woke up and walked to the castle. These next few pictures are of us on the bridge.

We walked all the way to the top of the hill where the castle spires are. It was far but totally worth it!

Here is the view from the top! Prague is known for its multitude of churches and spires.
This cathedral is inside the courtyard of the castle.

Raechel and Rachael in Berlin!

This weekend my Rachael and Raechel visited from England! We had sooo much fun; I can't wait to go visit them! First we went to the East Side Gallery.

This mural is Brezhnev and Honecker kissing and is based on a real picture. The caption reads "Dear God, help me survive this deadly love"
Anne Sophie was in town too and we all met up and went clubbing.
Here we are walking around the Mitte.

At the Holocaust Memorial.

We went back to the DDR museum.

We went up to the glass dome on the Reichstag. It has an amazing view but is REALLY cold!

From here you can look down to the room where the plenary meetings are

Amsterdam

Last weekend we took a nine hour over-night bus ride to Amsterdam. We arrived at 4 in the morning (the bus was early) and carried our stuff around all day. I literally wore layers of all the clothes I brought for the weekend so that I didn't have to bring a suitcase.

We went on a Heineken factory tour that showed how they started, how they make beer, and where they are headed into the future. We got to taste the hops (gross!) and stir one of the big vats.

The Dutch are famous for their tulips and clogs. As much as I love shoes, these did not make the cut.
Group shot! We walked ALL over the city because we didn't want to pay for public transportation. We came to the conclusion that there isn't much to do in Amsterdam...
I bought this sweet hat...it's so warm!
This is me, Amanda, and Nicole in one of the downtown areas of Amsterdam. It's basically filled with tourists and old creepy men.

This was our hostel the second night, and it seemed like the Ritz compared to the first one. We had our own room, bathroom, and coffee machine! The first hostel was a room with nine bunk beds and huge locking bins to hold your stuff.
Amsterdam is a beautiful city, but kind of boring. I'm still glad I went though!
